Todays Slide show

So it's like this. I am traveling around the USA and Canada. So far I've been to Florida, about 5 islands, New York State, Niagara Falls and I've landed back here in cold T.O.

Trying to get back to Florida but the flights are almost all booked. I will be continuing to work, but only online. So if you need to reach me or Marianna , email me. You can leave a message but it will take a few days to return.

The kids have the life!!! The went on the Disney Cruise, Disney Land, Lego Land, boating on a Boston Crawler around the canals and lakes of Florida and spent 2 days in a 100,000 ft waterpark.

Wow. I played with cardboard boxes in the back yard as a kid.

here's another slideshow.

As some of you might know, I am a junkie for celebrities. Well, Google has a Free service call Google Reader that is amazing. I can now track 25 of my the most popular site I love to read and get instant updates.

Google Reader is a Web-based aggregator, capable of reading Atom and RSS feeds.

Here are some of the features that are now included within Google Reader:

  • A front page that lets you see new items at a glance
  • Import and export subscription lists as an OPML file
  • Keyboard shortcuts for main functions
  • Choice between list view or expanded view for item viewing (showing either just the story title or with a description, respectively)
  • Automatic marking of items as read as they are scroll past (expanded view only)

Organization

You can subscribe to feeds using either Google Reader's search function, or by entering in the exact URL of the RSS or Atom feed. New posts from your feeds are then shown on the left-hand side of the screen. You can then order that list by date or relevance. Items can also be organized with labels, as well as being able to create Starred Items for easy access.

Sharing

Items in Google Reader can be shared with other Web users. This can be done by sending a link through e-mail, directing the user to the shared article; or Google Reader users can create a basic webpage, that includes all shared items from their account. Other people can then subscribe to this collated feed. Finally, users can insert a snippet of JavaScript code into their website, that will display a certain collection of shared stories in a small box.

The world evolves.

One of the coolest things about the world as I see it, is that it is always changing. Time flys.

We are about to enter our 10th season. Wow. I remember the day I met Marianna. Seriously. August 23rd 1995. At my brother Dan's wedding. Dan hired Marianna's father's company to shoot and the photographer for my brothers wedding was Marianna.

Now with thousands of airmiles behind us, and hopefully alot more ahead, we are preparing for a brand new year.

Soon, I'll be sending Sammy and Isaac to video and photo shoots.

Back at the studio --- :( but its only for a few days

What fun 3 days since I've been back. 22 appointments in the past 24 hours. I got sick and we started our new video series for Progressive Art. Basically we are creating documentary videos for some of Canada's most renowned artists. Thank you Dima for a great shoot today.

THM is going absolutely crazy. We have pick ups every half hour and Alex and I are likely to be here tonight until 3am.

For those of you who I promised you would get your stuff before xmas - you will. But it probably wont get there until Friday.

Check out the couples page. I've added 7-8 new presentations - mostly engagement shoots from this fall. I have a few wedding slideshows to put up but probably wont get them up till next week.

I'm already ready to go. Were off to Florida late next week until the New Year.

Last night on the Disney Magic

Seriously,

These guys know their stuff. Food was amazing ( I gained at least 10 lbs which I now have to lose) Entertainment was just like a Broadway show. Only we saw a different show each night.

The kids had the time of their lives and Marianna. Well lets just say one word. Chopard. ref# 79/6476/0-20 - looks like a sun with a diamond in the middle.

I got a lot of work done. Which, I know I know its my vacation but I couldnt help it. I'm so behind on web work, that it was cool just to not be rushed and get things done.

If you need to reach me I will be in the studio for the next week then I'm not in for the next week and out of the country again for the last week. Sooooo if you are desperate for a final pic or vid before xmas then get ahold of me asap.

Do you guys know how cool it is to leave the country then pick up emails in the middle of the ocean, and have to email a couple a sorry your too late - were booked for your date.!!!!!

Its amazing!! So for all you 2008 May June and July couples sitting on the fence. I have a goal.

To book all Saturdays for those 3 months by the end of February. Wish me luck.

Wa wa we wa

If you have every had a baby you will understand what it means to see something you care about slowly grow into maturity.

Each month TorontoHomeMovies.com (CanadaHomeMovies.com) has grown. Today we met a financial milestone that we had previously set for the end of the year. It's obvious that the market for saving peoples memories is growing.

The key to our success, I believe, is our undetered commitment to quality and inovation. We have take 2 hours of footage that used to take nearly 32 hours to covert to DVD and now streamlined it to a pure digital workflow that is done in less than 8 hours.

So we are 4 times more productive now than 10 months ago!!

Another strength is our realization that our clients really value their memories and with the right education we can aid them in preserving them forever.

Here are a few questions:

  1. Do you store your digital photos on the camera, on a hard drive, or burn them back to DVD?
  2. Where do you place your tapes? In the closet or basement?
  3. Who is your family archivist?
  4. When is the best time to convert old footage?
  5. Do you plan to edit the footage in the future?

i need a nap

I think its nappy time. Alex and I worked until 5:15 am last night completing orders for this week. We're leaving for Florida in a few days and I want to go with everything taken care of. Part of me is already there.

Few projects coming up.

Meeting a photographer there about a new style of wedding photography very exciting stuff. Tell you more later. OK a little hint. It involves your bridal party and shooting a session with them. I'm thinking we could do a bridal party video shoot and take photos at the same time.

saveyourmemories.ca s coming along great. Most f the site is done with some small finished to be completed ON VACATION. (Dont tell Marianna)

We have 2 project we are waiting on for DGVideo - One I am really excited about. Cant talk until we sign the deal, but I met with the production team on their end last week and as my friend Borat says - wa wa we wa

We reached the 4 terabyte margin in the studio last week.WOW I remember when I paid $1500 plus tax for 9 gigs of Hard Drive space.

CanadaHomeMovies.com is bogged down (because of Yogen Fruz and NABF)Alex and Vitali are almost as busy as I am
